 Here are some Diamond Paintings that 

my family (Mom, Brianne, BooBoo and I) 

have enjoyed doing 

My opinion on round vs. square drills
Round is shinier, faster, and easier (due to space between beads and not needing to be flush against the other beads around it)

Square seems to show more detail and shading
(notice shirt details and flowers) 

These are pictures of the same size (30x40cm)
 from the same company.

It is personal preference of which is preferred.  
I personally like doing both, but mostly buy square
